If one fails due to a little or a lot of inadequacy on one’s part in terms of the hard work put in, its understandable. But what does one do when for no fault of one, one is being shown the thumbs down in matters totally out of one’s control? How long does one patiently wait for things to start going ones way? How does one console oneself with the by now cliched “Whatever happens, happens for ones good?” What does one do when one does put in some effort but the end result is disastrous as always…
I wish I knew the answers. Do you know?? Let me know if you do. Will ya??

Hi Priya…
been there and I know its a real bummer…
no friends or family could say or do anything to get you out of it…
Just hang in there, put a smile on and when you find something you are bit interested in, do it…
eventually, the storm will pass…
take care mate… have a nice day da…

cheer up, baby! it happens!
i’ll tell you what i think of when this happens to me. what inspires me to go back and do it right the next time. these lines from the manual of the warrior of light by paulo coelho:
“Time will tell who won and who lost, but he knows that, from that moment on, he can do nothing more: the fate of that battle lies in God’s hands.
At such moments, the warrior of light is not concerned with results. He examines his heart and asks: ‘Did I fight the Good Fight?’ If the answer is ‘yes’, he can rest. If the answer is ‘no’, he takes up his sword and begins training all over again.”
i didn’t mean to sound preacher-like.

I know. It hurts a lot. Have been through it quite a nit myself. You know what, when one puts in effort and results don’t show up, thats ok. Whats worse is when the wrong person gets credit for the efforts. The ‘whatever happens, happens for good’ is entirely unacceptable to me. Infact, I would say ‘everything happens as it ought to, not so that it is good or bad.’
Having said that, an answer to your question would be..When one puts in effort and results are disastrous nevertheless, then just retrospect to see why they went wrong. If thats of no use, there is absolutely no other way than to come to terms with it. Its a bit cruel but then thats the way it is. There are things in the world – really, that don’t respond to efforts. And so, there is nothing that can be done, except hope for the better.
Sorry if it sounded like some huge podium-preaching talk. I’ve gone through some of this at certain points. Am sure most would have. Am just voicing my thoughts.

Is all a part of chaos theory and ‘butter’ fly effect. Someday when u are happy, u will realise that it happened because u were grumpy previously
BTW, if I am in a bad mood, I ask the manager for a release. Helps transfer the tension to that guy

Nope bud didn’t sound like podium talk. Actually feels comforting coming from someone whose been though the same situation.
Life’s very cruel isn’t it?? Especially when we try to be nice about it.

What happ? Oh wait, there’s something written above the Calvin strip.. ~scrolls back to read the actual post~
Heh, sorry! First things first, read Calvin.
As to the ‘thumbs down’ – been there at times. Don’t want to get all preachy on ya, but give it some time. Things generally sort themselves out.
BTW, answer to all your questions: Chocolate. Trust me on that – the weighing scale in my bathroom is proof
