I’m sure this is got to be the mokkaiest PJ’s ever. But this is what I’ve been doing all week until I found respite by stumbling upon the following 2 beauties.
It all started when I suddenly wanted to head the Malayalam version of the famous song “Lajjavathiye”. I did that on YouTube. [Where else? ] After the song, one of the videos in the side pane featuring Prithvi [Aww He's so cute] Raj caught my eye. I vaguely remembered a bit of a song I’d heard on Kiran Music a couple of years back featuring the same PR, and ran a search for the only word in the song I’d managed to catch. And sure enough, YouTube spewed out a few videos matching it. The song is “Pinakkamano” from “Ananthabhadram”.
Did I just hear you saying “Oh, I don’t know Malayalam. So never mind” ?? Wait. Neither do I. But music ain’t bound by languages. Right? Hear it once and I’m sure you’d appreciate it.The female voice is absolutely melodious. And DON’T just hear it. WATCH it too. The song is all lovey dovey and the video is beautiful to say the least. The chemistry between PR and Kavya Madhavan is awesome. This female can emote really really well. Its been a while since I saw actresses effortlessly throw up so many emotions on their face. Its a welcome change from the clay faced Bollywood/Kollywood stars whose repertoire of emotions contains only smile/giggle/cry and scream. If you watch closely, you can see that the entire video is inspired by Raja Ravi Varma’s paintings.
Here’s the video
And these are the paintings.

If by now you haven’t noticed the lady’s big eyes, go watch the video again.
Here comes the second song: Its Are re from Happy Days. I heard it first at this years “Saarang” where Karthik sang it and the crowd went bonkers. Its a light hearted song set in college environment. When I first saw it, I was thinking: “Sigh, those beautiful days… ” I loved the simple tune and Karthik’s voice the most.
The best part of the whole song, according to me are these lines:
Idi varakepudu lede… Idi na manase kaade..
Evare manna vinade… Tana gadhedoo tanade…
Anthaa nee maayalone… Roju nee naama smarane…
Premaa ee vinthalanne nee vallaneee……
I couldn’t just stop humming these lines. An extremely light hearted video which suits the song. But more than the video its the song that stays with on your lips hours after you’ve heard it.
Here’s the song:
I speak niether malayalam nor telugu. I hardly understood the words in the songs. But that didn’t seem to stop me from falling in love with these 2 songs. I hope you’d like them as well. Just check them out I say..

There is another Mallu song from the movie ‘”Police” featuring PrithviRaj and Bhavana. Think “Kaana kannil….”. Nice song

this post reminded me of one of my old posts:

btw, i loved the second song. the music is just brilliant. of course, like you, i could not understand a single word from both the songs.
but then, music never had a language…
before i rant too much, let me ask u if the lady in the first clip actually looks like hema malini (sideface)? or is it just me? and yes, the hero is indeed damn cute.

@priyaiyer
wow.. quite some similarities there..
music is great in both the songs.
hema malini?? i thought she looked a bit like ramya krishnan with the biigg bindi and traditional mallu dress…
listen to the first song a couple of more times and i’m sure you’ll fall in love with it as well…

Ah, good songs. The actress in the first is Kavya Madhavan – very talented, one of my favorites. And the second song is becoming an all time fav for me. You should check out the movie too, Happy Days.
P.S: I speak both Telugu (mother tongue) and Mallu (mother-in-law’s tongue)
um hate to be nitpicky, but the second part of the second line goes ‘tana dhaaredho tanade’ (dhaari meaning road – love takes its own course types)

I just put a P.S in the middle of a comment.

Welcome here
I’ve watched just this one song of hers and I really think she’s awesome with expressions. I got the DVD for “Happy Days” should catch it this weekend hopefully. Wow.. Danke for heading to comments as per my starting lines..
I hate it when someone sings a fav song of mine with wrong words. So I can understand and don’t really mind your correction.
Goof ups
There.. that should help

pinakkamano is one of my fav songs too… the lyrics are really good & meaningfull… Santhosh Sivan (director) has done a good job in capturing her eyes (beauty) very well in the whole movie…
